PROFILINE headlight preparation set
This set contains everything you need for the complete preparation of headlamp surfaces.
It removes yellowing, scratches and other surface damage from headlights.
The polish included then restores a perfect, smooth and transparent surface.
To preserve this result, the headlight surfaces are then sealed and protected with SONAX PROFILINE Headlight Coating.
(For approx. 20 applications with polishing machine).
Materials needed: SONAX PROFILINE Headlight Conditioning Set, window cleaner, adhesive tape, microfibre cloth, water.
First open the bonnet and tape off the adjacent body parts to prevent damage during sanding.
Now clean the surface thoroughly with the windscreen cleaner and dry it.
In the next step, wet sand the headlight surface with the enclosed 1,000 grit sandpaper and the Puk until a homogeneous surface has formed. In this first step of the preparation it is normal that the headlights become dull and cloudy.
Now continue sanding the headlights with the 2,000 grit sandpaper, also wet, until a finer surface is created. Normally, when the headlights are wet, they are now transparent. Dry headlights are still blind, we change this in the next step.
Now the lambskin pad is either pulled onto a polishing machine or the enclosed puk.
Now shake the bottle of SONAX PROFILINE Headlight Polish thoroughly before use. Then put a few drops (less is more) on the lambskin pad. Spread the polish on the headlight and polish completely with medium pressure. Repeat the process until the headlights are completely transparent.
Now clean the headlights again with the window cleaner and dry completely.
Now take a sachet of SONAX PROFILINE Headlight Coating and put a few drops on the enclosed fleece cloth.
Now spread the coating completely in a crosswise motion on the headlight surface.
Then carefully remove the residue with the microfibre cloth provided.
Now the adhesive tape can be removed and the adjacent parts can be cleaned.
The coating must now cure for four hours, during which time the headlights must not come into contact with water.
Please do not wash / drive the vehicle into the car wash until after 7 days.
Special product instructions:
Highly alkaline pre-cleaners, e.g. at car washes, can attack the protective coating.
Therefore, regularly observe the beading behaviour on the headlamp, as this provides information about the functionality of the protective film.
Re-seal if necessary.
